Sullivan Square

  • Road work will continue at the Sullivan Square rotary.
  • Work will include curb, sidewalk and traffic signal installation.
  • The work will require sequenced lane shifts along with some closing of lanes during off-peak hours. 
     
  • Work will continue on D Street and Spice Street.
  • Work will include curb and sidewalk installation.
  • The work will require short-term lane closures. Some lane shifting may be required.   
  • Work will continue at the Sullivan Square MBTA Station. 
  • Work will include wall and lighting installation.
  • There is no anticipated impact to traffic. 

Route 16

  • Work will continue at Wellington Circle.
  • Work will include road widening as well as curb, sidewalk, and traffic signal installation.
  • The work will be done with small crews working in isolated areas.
  • Travel lane closures are possible during off-peak hours. 
  • Work will continue at Santilli Circle.
  • Work will include traffic signal installation. 
  • The work will be done by small crews working in isolated areas.
  • Possible lane closures could occur during off-peak hours.
  • Work will continue at Washington Avenue.
  • Work will include traffic signal installation. 
  • The work will be done by small crews working in isolated areas.
  • No travel lane closures are anticipated.

Alford Street/Broadway (Route 99)

  • Work will continue at the intersection of Broadway and Beacham Street. 
  • Work will include curb and sidewalk installation.
  • The work will require short-term closures of Beacham Street, between Broadway and Bow Street.
  • Work will continue along Broadway.
  • Work will include curb, sidewalk and traffic signal installation.
  • The work will require short-term lane closures.
  • Two travel lanes southbound on Broadway will be maintained during morning peak hours and two travel lanes northbound on Broadway will be maintained during afternoon peak hours.

     

EVERSOURCE TRAFFIC UPDATE

  • CHELSEA
    • No transmission line work in Chelsea week of September 17th, 2018. 
  • EVERETT
    • Eversource will be working day and night shifts on Beacham Street in Everett, at the intersection of Robin and Beacham Streets, beginning Monday, September 17, through Saturday, September 22, from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. This work will require alternating traffic patterns along Beacham Street.
  • BOSTON
    • There will be a single lane closure at on Alford Street for utility excavation Monday, September 17, through Friday, September 21, from approximately 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. and Saturday, September 22, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Expect alternating traffic patterns during this period.

Sullivan Square

  • Road work will begin on the Main Street approach to the Sullivan Square rotary (Charlestown side). 
  • Work will include the installation of safety barriers to mark work zones.
  • The work will require sequenced lane shifts along with some closing of lanes during off-peak hours.
  • Road work will continue at the Sullivan Square rotary. 
  • Work will include traffic signal installation.
  • The work will require sequenced lane shifts along with some closing of lanes during off-peak hours.
  • Work will continue on D Street and Spice Street.

  • Work will include traffic signal installation.
  • The work will be done by small crews working in isolated areas.
  • No travel lane closures are anticipated.

Alford Street/Broadway (Route 99)

  • Work will continue at the intersection of Broadway and Beacham Street. 
  • Work will include curb and sidewalk installation.
  • The work will require short-term closures of Beacham Street, between Broadway and Bow Street.
  • Work will continue along Broadway 
  • Work will include curb, sidewalk and traffic signal installation.
  • Two travel lanes southbound on Broadway will be maintained during morning peak hours and two travel lanes northbound on Broadway will be maintained during afternoon peak hours.
  •  Utility investigation will take place on Dexter Street on Tuesday, September 11th.  
  • Work will require lane closures around the work zone. There is no anticipated impact to truck traffic.

NOTE: There will be no work on Monday, September 3, due to the Labor Day holiday. 

Sullivan Square

  • Road work will continue at the Sullivan Square rotary. 
  • Work will include traffic signal installation, curb, and sidewalk installation.
  • The work will require sequenced lane shifts along with some closing of lanes during off-peak hours.
  • Work will continue on D Street and Spice Street.
  • Work will include drainage structure, curb, and sidewalk installation.
  • The work will require short-term lane closures. Some lane shifting may be required.
  • Work will continue at the Sullivan Square MBTA Station.
  • Work will include wall excavation, drainage, and lighting installation.
  • There is no anticipated impact to traffic.

Route 16

  • Work will continue at Wellington Circle. 
  • Work will include traffic signal installation.
  • The work will be done with small crews working in isolated areas.
  • Travel lane closures are possible during off-peak hours.
  • Work will continue at Santilli Circle, Webster Avenue, and Bell Circle.
  • Work will include traffic signal installation.
  • The work will be done by small crews working in isolated areas.
  • Non-travel lane closures will occur during off-peak hours. (With the exception of Santilli Circle where possible travel lane closures will occur during off-peak hours.)

Alford Street/Broadway (Route 99)

  • Work will continue along Broadway 
  • Work will include excavation, roadway widening and paving, and curb and sidewalk installation.
  • The work will require short-term lane closures. Some lane shifting may be required.
  • Two travel lanes southbound on Broadway will be maintained during morning peak hours and two travel lanes northbound on Broadway will be maintained during afternoon peak hours.
  • Work will continue at the intersection of Beacham Street at Broadway
  • Work will include excavation, roadway widening and paving, and curb and sidewalk installation.
  • The work will require periodic closures of Beacham Street between Broadway and Bow Street.
  • Repaving of the southbound lanes of Broadway at the Beacham Street intersection will take place from 8 p.m. Friday, September 7, until 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8.
  • This work will require the closure of Beacham Street, from Broadway to Bow Street, in both directions along with lane closures along Broadway.
  • One travel lane will be maintained along Broadway in each direction at all times.

EVERSOURCE TRAFFIC UPDATE 

EVERETT      

  • Robin Street
    • Eversource will be working day and night shifts on Robin Street in Everett from Tuesday, September 4, to Saturday, September 8, from 7:00 a.m. to 3 a.m.
    • This work will require the complete closure of Robin Street.
  • Due to this and other utility and roadway improvements in the area, the following restrictions will be in place during the week of September 3:
    • Robin Street will be closed between Lynde Street and Beacham Street.
    • The following local streets will be restricted to local traffic only: Dexter Street, Courtland Street, Thorndike Street, Lynde Street, Mystic Street and Bow Street.
    • Broadway, Route 16, 2nd Street and Market Street will be used to detour through the area.

BOSTON

  • Alford Street
    • There will be a single lane closure on Alford Street for utility excavation from Tuesday, September 4, through Friday, September 7, from approximately 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. and Saturday, September 8, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Expect alternating traffic patterns during this period.

In observance of Labor Day, there will be no construction activities on Monday, September 3, 2018.
